Mixologist Greg Bryson Brings Us Back to the Days of Bootlegging and the Sounds of Jazz
1519 Wilshire Blvd Santa Monica, CA 90403
As we all know, LA is full of many secrets. After Friday, October 23rd, there will be one more in the city that never sleeps. The team behind Estate Restaurant + Bar in Santa Monica brings us Guest Room, a prohibition style bar. The atmosphere of this sultry, yet sophisticated space will have you thinking you've traveled back to the 20s. “The Guest Room experience begins before you step inside,” says Chloe Makhani, Marketing Director and Partner of Guest Room. “Once through the hidden door, guests travel to a bygone era of drama, opulence and rebellion, a time when drinking alcohol in secret was a must.”
Guest Room beverage director Greg Bryson elevates your cocktail classics with fun interpretations of the familiar. Here is just a taste of what to expect on this bar menu:
Smart Little Feller Brandy, Demerara, Lemon and Soda
Devil’s Candy Rye, Sherry and Sour Cherry Bitters
I’ve Still Got 99 Gin, Strawberry Cordial, Lemon and Cava.
Mary Pickfords Rum, Maraschino, Pineapple and Pomegranate Syrup
Tom Collins Old Tom, Lemon, Superfine Sugar, Soda
ABOUT GUEST ROOM
Guest Room brings the by-gone era of prohibition to Santa Monica. An intimate speakeasy located above Estate Restaurant + Bar, Guest Room was designed by acclaimed O’Brien & Associated and exudes the drama and dynamism of the 1920s through deeply-tufted sofas, arched windows, romantic chandeliers, dark chocolate walnut woodwork and bronze-filigree. The exclusive hideaway serves a full bar program including cocktails from classics, twists on classics and house drinks curated by beverage director Greg Bryson. Serving small plates, Guest Room’s limited menu comes from Estate’s Executive Chef Yoshiara, made up of boundary-less Asian fusion cuisine.
