Anne Marie Damaso of Sweet COMBforts


Anne Marie Damaso has always strived to make others happy, so going into the hospitality field was a natural choice. She became most interested in the field because it allowed her to put both her critical and creative thinking to use, and because no two days are the same.

Originally from the Central Coast, Santa Maria, California, Anne Marie moved out to SoCal after high school. She started her Orange County career while working at a cafe in Fullerton where she learned the basic behind-the-scenes of a kitchen. After a couple years, she moved on to work at a restaurant in Santa Ana, as well as one in Newport Beach where she handled management and furthered her baking techniques.

Now, as a Co-Owner and the Executive Chef at Sweet COMBforts, Anne Marie feels thrilled to be part of such an exciting new project. She gives thanks to her fellow team and partners Kevin and Mark, for sharing their knowledge of the business as well as the opportunity to be their Head Chef. In addition to their other business partner Geoffrey - in her eyes, no one is as passionate about working in this business as he is. 

Although, working in the restaurant industry can be tough, Chef Damaso believes that above all, at the end of the day it's all a learning experience. "We need to remember that excellence does not require perfection, as long as we continue to believe in ourselves, our goals and dreams will continue to come closer and closer every day." She hopes for Sweet COMBforts to provide the Irvine and SoCal communities with an element of pure indulgence. Her and the team have worked hard to create something innovative and delicious, and she aims to see that within each bite taken at Sweet COMBforts.
